Boceprevir (brand name Victrelis) is an oral hepatitis C virus (HCV) protease inhibitor approved in 2011 to treat genotype 1 chronic hepatitis C. It was used alongside peginterferon alfa and ribavirin. Merck voluntarily discontinued the drug in 2015 due to safer, more effective all-oral direct-acting antivirals.
